Three Features, Three Machines Nike’s new Pegasus Plus 2 is built for every kind of run, and it brings three upgrades in one shoe: responsive cushioning from the Air Zoom unit, lower weight in perfect balance, and lighter, more breathable materials. For the launch at the House of Innovation on the Champs-Élysées, Nike wanted these features to speak for themselves, without relying on copy or screens. Together with satis&fy AG, we developed the technical side of the installation and turned each feature into a physical experience. The result is a set of two kinetic showcases and one static vitrine, each one dedicated to a single idea, so visitors understand the shoe just by watching it.

Cushioning in Motion Cushioning is something runners feel, not something they usually see. To change that, we built a custom mechanism that presses the shoe in a steady stride rhythm, mimicking the impact of a foot hitting the ground. With every cycle, the Air Zoom unit compresses and springs back, showing exactly how the shoe absorbs energy and returns it. The motion was tuned until it felt natural, closer to a runner’s pace than to a machine, so the showcase reads like a training session that never ends.

Balance and Air Weight and breathability are even harder to show, so we made them physical. A precisely calibrated mechanism holds the shoe in perfect equilibrium, turning “less weight” into a visible moment of balance that invites people to stop and look closer. Alongside it, controlled airflow moves through the upper, letting visitors see how the lighter materials allow air to pass through. Every movement was designed to be subtle and precise, so the technology stays in the background and the shoe stays the hero.

Built to Run Every Day A flagship store on the Champs-Élysées is one of the most demanding environments for any installation. The mechanics had to run quietly, smoothly and reliably for long hours, day after day, in front of thousands of visitors. We focused on robust engineering, careful motion control and extensive testing to make sure every cycle looks as good as the first. Framed by Random Studio’s design concept around the perfect training week, with calendar elements throughout the space, the showcases are now live at Nike’s flagship in Paris.
